The inn at "Tanaka" is a traditional townhouse. The exterior of the townhouse is almost the same, and the interior has been renovated using natural fittings.
Collaboration of Kyoto owner x local craftsman
The renovation is a collaborative work between a Kyoto-born owner and a local craftsman. While discussing with the craftsmen, we realized the goodness of Machiya and the goodness of Kyoto, which can only be understood by the owner who once left the local area.
In particular, we are particular about domestically produced building materials and fittings such as pillars and earthen walls, and carefully select furniture and other small items one by one. We are creating a space that is kind to the mind and body so that you can stay with peace of mind.
Yukimi shoji, porch, tsubo garden, lanterns and festival masks made by local craftsmen, "Knob-and-Hiki" wiring that is rarely seen anymore, clay walls, kitchen "Hinoyojin" bill……
You will surely feel the sense of security, nostalgia, and relaxation that makes you want to say "I'm home" as soon as you open the front door.
Enjoy "travel" and "living experience" at the same time
The inn of "Sada Naka" is conveniently located near Arashiyama, Saga, and Gion sightseeing spots. It is convenient for transportation such as railroads, and it is easy to reach not only Kyoto city but also northern Kyoto prefecture such as Amanohashidate and neighboring cities such as Osaka, Kobe, Otsu and Nara.
However, we do not dare to say, "Please visit tourist spots here and there."
